PDF to Word
This one doesn’t work yet. Every other tool on PDFBull runs in your browser the moment you open it. Converting a PDF into an editable Word document can’t — it needs a server we haven’t built.
Why it needs a server
The tools that run in your tab rearrange a PDF whose structure is already written down. Pages get reordered, rotated, cropped or recompressed, and the file stays a PDF throughout.
Word conversion is a different problem. A PDF records where marks sit on a page, not what they meant — so the converter has to work backwards to the document: which lines were a heading, which block was a table, where one paragraph ended and the next began, and what to do about a font you don’t have. Getting that wrong produces a .docx full of text boxes that is harder to edit than the PDF was. Doing it properly takes more computing than a browser tab can offer, which is why every tool that does this well uploads your file.
What to use today
We’d rather send you somewhere useful than keep you here. If you have Microsoft Word, it converts PDFs on open — File → Open → choose the PDF, and it does the reconstruction itself. Google Docs does the same when you upload a PDF and open it as a document. Both will serve you better than anything we could put in front of you right now.

Can I convert a PDF to Word on PDFBull right now?
No. This page exists to say so plainly and to let you hear when that changes. Every other tool on the site works today — this is the one that doesn't.
Why can't it run in my browser like the other tools?
Merging or rotating a PDF rearranges a file whose structure is already known. Converting to Word means reconstructing the document: working out which marks were a heading, which were a table, where paragraphs began and ended, and which fonts to substitute. That reconstruction needs far more processing than a browser tab can do well, and doing it badly produces a .docx that is worse than useless.
Will my file be uploaded when it does work?
Yes, and the page will say so before you choose a file. That's the honest trade: this one cannot work without a server. The fourteen tools that run in your browser today will keep running in your browser — this doesn't change any of them.
What should I use in the meantime?
If you have Microsoft Word, it opens PDFs directly and converts them on the way in — File, then Open, then pick the PDF. Google Docs does the same on upload. Both are better than anything we could offer you today.
What do you do with my email address?
Store it, and send you exactly one message when PDF to Word works. It isn't a newsletter, it isn't shared, and you don't need an address to use anything else on the site. Our privacy page says what's kept.
